The Azerbaijan First Division 2008-09 is the second-level of football in Azerbaijan.

The top 2 of the First Division did not be promoted to the Azerbaijan Premier League due AFFA's license policy.

Schedule

Every team plays each other four times, twice at home and twice on the road. The season started on 6 September 2009 and is due to finish on 16 May 2009. Between 7 December 2009 and 15 February 2009, no matches were played due to winter break.
